This Print is an priginal by Gizan Izuno(1885-1957) of Kyoto who first made a study of the Southern School of Chinese Paintings and later of the Northern School of the Sung and Yuan Dynasties. He is now the only Japanese artist who subscribes to the trditional painting techniques of the Northern School.
A world of quiet theinking and the high spiritual rhythm of a landscape naturaly expressed on the print-these are the characteristics of the Northern School of Chinese Paintings.

First,known as an artist of Southern School Chinese Painting. After hard study of old paintings he changed his side to Northern School Chinese Painting (HOKUSO-GA), and who is the only artist existing today for HOKUSO-GA.
