Born in 1914. Grandfather: Bairei Kohno, a member of the Imperial Art Academy of Japan. Father: Seiko Kohno, the successor of the Shijo Maruyama School of traditional Japanese painting. 1931: Graduated from the Course of Painting, Kyoto Municipal School of Arts and Crafts. Accepted for Imperial Academy's Art Exhibition(TEITEN), henceforth accepted many times for Japan Art Exhibition(NITTEN),Pan-Pacific Art Exhibition, All Kansai Fine Art Exhibition, All Kyoto Fine Art Exhibition,Etc... 1934: Graduated from the Kyoto Municipal College of Painting Apprenticed himself to Goun Nishimura. 1949: Finished the graduate Course of Kyoto Nunicipal College of Art Became a member of the SHINCHOSHA group headed by Kayo Yamaguchi. 1950:Appinted an art instructor of Sagano Senior High School,Kyoto. 1959:Won a prize at the SHINCHOSHA Exhibition. 1960:Given the honor to participate in the New Fugures of Kyoto Prefecture Exhibition. 1963: Attended the International Society for Education through Art held at Montreal, Canada, as a representative of Japan. |
